Fable beds are some of them ost comfortable hotel beds I sleep in. Their mattress toppers are phenomenal
We were on the top floor and not accessible by lift. Had to take two flights of stairs which was not ideal after recent surgery. The maintenance on our room was disappointing. The electrical socket out in the bathroom was coming out of the wall. The doorstop on the back of the door had been moved but the original fixing point had not been made good to match the door. The one small window in the room looked as if there was black mould coming through the wallpaper and finally half of the led downlights were not working.
Great location and a beautiful building and interior. Comfy (but small) beds. Clean.
Valet parking costs $60 but we still had to park our car ourselves as concierge didn't do manual. Also found some staff really unprofessional and overstepping boundaries of professional language. Breakfast was very basic for this level hotel.
Lovely room, comfortable bed, friendly staff. Handy location and quiet even though on Queen St.
PATHETIC!! All started with check in and was all down hill from there. The person at the front didn’t want to know us, nor did she seem happy to be there, looked us up and down and didn’t really give us the time of day, not a great start on arrival for a weekend my daughter and I were so excited for. Room was fine, was very cold though and the window didn’t shut properly. Went down to the restaurant for a drink and bite to eat as we had been up since 3am to catch an early flight. Waited around to be seen, when someone finally noticed, this person looked down their nose at us and looked us up and down like we were peasants. We were seated given menus and left to it. The server took 20-30 minutes to even come and ask us if we at least wanted drinks, by that time we just wanted a drink and something small to get out of there as we were made to feel VERY uncomfortable. After this, it took at least an hour to receive A BOWL OF CHIPS!! Ridiculous. We then were not spoken to or even looked at for the remainder of our sitting when we did actually want further service. I will NEVER stay at the Fable in Auckland again nor will I recommend it to friends and family. You would think a big franchise that sponsors a well known super rugby team would have much better service than that.
Spacious rooms, well appointed bathroom, location.
No desk in the room to work at night and TV reception was poor as the picture kept breaking up.
