The view was wonderful and the beds were very comfortable.
There are no ports to charge any devices. The front desk didn't even have an adapter we could borrow, we had to buy one for a ridiculous amount.
Connected to the venue so we didn’t have to walk in the rain.
Booking.com gave us a total price of $243 for the room and we were billed $270 total for the room. Also I think hotels should have an earlier check in time. It doesn’t give you time to enjoy the room when you are coming for an event. We checked in just before 4 and the event started at 6. We only had enough time to get something to eat and go to the venue.
Valet parking was excellent!
No close close walkable options for meals later at night under 21 years. You have to order in and then meet them in the lobby.
The historic vibe of the building
Nothing to complain about
The Amway. Grand is indeed a grand old hotel. You can see it was once a magnificent hotel but now it seems a bit tired and worn out. Good sized rooms.
The room had a bad smell to it, musty damp with a dash of old cigarettes. The kind of smell you still notice even after being in the room for a while. Most of the furniture was very worn and chipped. The desk chair was absolutely filthy. Well overdue for an update. Lumpy old mattress on the bed. The fridge in the room also did not work. A call to the front desk and they said they'd send up a replacement fridge. An hour passes nothing, so I went and spoke with someone at the desk and they said they'd send someone up immediately. Nobody ever came. We were travelling with two small kids so having a working fridge was important. We had to throw food out as it spoiled. I've never actually stayed at a hotel where the front desk simply ignores requests. Upon checkout they did not ask if I enjoyed my stay as I have to assume most people do not. Pool was also weirdly cold and dirty. Could not recommend and would not stay there again.
