Enjoy a historic setting and magnificent views from this 10th-century castle, carefully restored as a luxury hotel but still retaining much of its original charm. The Parador de Tortosa’s setting in the Beceite Mountains allow to look out over the green Ebro Valley and the ancient city of Tortosa. It was originally built by the Moorish King Abderramán III, but over the centuries has been updated in a Gothic style. The interior is traditionally Christian, with vaulted ceilings, wood beams and antique-style, wooden furniture. Take in the stunning views from the spacious sun terrace or the outdoor seasonal swimming pool. You can then try some of the characteristic Catalan cuisine served in the hotel restaurant – a charming venue with exquisite stained-glass windows.

TortosaLovely building in a great location. Friendly and helpful staff.
Although beautifully presented, the food at breakfast was overpriced - unless you drink Cava and/or red wine in the morning. Self-service and not well organised, compared to dinner.
Excellent staff Friendly and extremely helpful at all times
The hotel is in dire need of renovation and redecoration. It's classed as four star but the Parador Hotel Group should be aware that they probably still have this rating due to the quality of their staff, not the building itself. The room we took had a polite notice in the bathroom to conserve water as it's precious . Very difficult to do when one wash hand basin had no handle on the plunger so couldn't be used , and the other didn't form a watertight seal. . Wardrobe doors were reminiscent of a Hammer Horror film they creaked so badly. The building is both outdated and desperately needs a revamp to be worthy of it's four star rating .
Amazing location and views. We were very happy with our stay here. There are many things to see in the historic area and walking along the riverbank is very pleasant. We also enjoyed a little visit to the indoor market. The views of the mountains are spectacular.
As our main day for looking around Tortosa was a Monday many things were closed or only partially open. But we still had a lovely day.
Extremely strict no-smoking policy everywhere, even outside on the terrace, where drinks are served. The hotel was well-maintained, and cleanliness was excellent. Parking area convenient. Bed was comfortable. The high-ceilinged restaurant was elegant and interesting; tables well-spaced, allowed for intimate conversations.
The lack of sound insulation, conversations in neighbouring rooms and above could be easily heard. The shower was in the (narrow) bath. It's an historic building, which doesn't allow for a lot of natural light (summers in Spain are so hot, this is deliberately done to keep the rooms cool).
the Castel ,the view, the breakfast
Its a beautiful hotel located in the castle on the top of the hill. If youre not an experienced driver - it can be problematic to get into the gate :) its quite an experience! The room and bed was comfortable, breathtaking view, very friendly and welcoming staff at reception.
Sound isolation - I could hear my neighbours.
The ambience is wonderful. Location amazing. All staff very professional. Breakfast service is incredibly busy but if we asked for anything it was promptly served.
Yes. Some areas are having building work done. It did not start before 10.00am but continued until 4pm. We were out all day and we were given a room away from it. We would be happy to stay again in spite of it.
