El Castell Motel

Nothing! This place smells horribly like mold, it’s completely noisy and you can hear everything next-door and on the road, and it’s right next to a sex shop, which is completely inappropriate for children.

The hotel had a very strong mold odor. It made us horribly sick. We told the front desk multiple times and they told us there were no other rooms available which we found out was a blatant lie. Someone came to evaluate the mold and they agreed that they smelled the mold. The front desk then lied to us and said that they did not smell the mold. The front desk lied to us repeatedly And were extremely rude and unprofessional. Our room was extremely noisy as we could hear the road the entire night and we were right next to a sex shop, which is completely inappropriate for children staying here! The front desk said that they would bring in a professional to evaluate the mold, but in the same sentence that there’s absolutely no mold and they’ve already brought in people to check. They refuse to give us a document that shows that they brought in a professional that there was no mold found. Absolutely do not stay here! The facilities are rundown and old. And there’s absolutely no integrity with any of the workers. Save your health and go elsewhere.

Location and staff

Matterss is soft and make alot spring noise.

Room was clean, staff was responsive. Easy to navigate, to and from the highway as well as frontage roads. Parking was "open" and was not a problem.

Everything here was good. I was concerned with the absent casa verde complex across the street, but that does not reflect on this establishment.

The Staff was amazing, Super Clean every where on the premisses inside and out. Conveniently located close to Aquarium, cannery row, beaches, and the wharf. Affordably priced, nice and quite too! The 3 beds in a room was spacious. Total bonus for big families.

The only issue we had was the shotty wifi. It kept clocking and kicking us out when streaming Netflix. The pool was cold too. Its more like an out door pool because its opened ontop. So it's not closed off to the cold weather. So awesome for Summer but for winter visits its for the cold swimmers.

The room is clean and spacious, relatively updated. Room looks better than the outside look for sure.

Chose this hotel for the pool. It was pretty cold to swim there in the winter. Kids still enjoyed it though
