Location. Food was delicious. Honey glazed salmon. Loved having the marina next door.
Pillows were very very uncomfortable. First time in my life of 40 years going to hotels and resorts that pillows were aweful. I didnt sleep well the whole stay. Service at resturant was slow. Staffing needs to be effortless and plenty. The gift store closed at wired hours and we needed some things. The pool bar took us 20 mins each time to get drinks and there wasn't many people at the bar. Sand no live bands used on property for events. Main Pool was very dirty .
We have been coming to the lake of the Ozarks since the early 70s when it opened. It has become a family tradition and we love the memories we create every year.
More food options
The view was nice, there were lots of pool options which we very much liked (the smaller pools are better than the big one that had the bar, it's overrun by kids which doesn't make sense since it's the one with a bar). The room itself was clean enough (bugs in ceiling lights dead thankfully) for a few days and did the job since we weren't planning on being inside much anyway. The Spa there is the best part!
Good thing they has lots of pool options because the indoor/outdoor pool is quite dangerous it has painted sides around the edge that are slanted. I was walking and holding onto two rails and still slipped and slammed my toe into the wall. We saw an or two every night. We only swam at that one, one night which is sad because that is the one pool open till 12am the others close at 9pm. The outside of the rooms have more spiders than I could count and a simple broom brushing once a week could fix that, our patio door (1st level public access) was broken and unsecured and we were not offered any sort of reimbursement for this inconvenience and safety issue. No fridges in the rooms for the building we stayed in (season bay) it's apparently the only one without fridges and we could have had one moved for another $20 a day. No microwaves in any of the rooms, so just one in the main building lobby you can use, about a 5 min walk. When we got there, we were told we had to give them $150.00 hold/charge that we were not told beforehand, that was very inconvenient. Any money not used on the charge from hotel restaurants/bars refunded in 3-10 business days. I called and asked before arrival about breakfast buffets and was rudely told they "Only do them when they are busy and since it's the week we clearly won't be busy". First morning we went to Breezes and guess what they had, a breakfast buffet, I will say it was nice the people who worked it were very sweet and the food good. Second to last night we went to HK's for dinner since they were holding someone of our money anyway, so we charged it to the hold. HK's is supposed to be upscale and fancy, it's very outdated the chairs (arm rests need to be cleaned badly). The food was alright but not worth the money AT ALL, the waiter we had was very nice (Ethan) and honestly should work somewhere better! His supervisor/bar manger was very loud and ruined our experience, p.s.
Room nice and clean
Parking lot was so far away.
the location was lovely! staff was so kind! beds were comfortable!
quite a lot of gnats in our room, dead and alive.
I liked the lodge, everyone there was nice. The restaurant on site were a great option. The movie theater was a great spot.
The bathroom was slippery. I actually fell getting out and hit my head . So I would say more safety in the bathroom.
The room had a bad smell I called front desk nothing happened so I went to the store and got Candles. Then the toilet was messed up had to take the back off just to flush. It was a dead animal in the hallway it didn’t smell nice. The beds wasn’t comfortable it’s really time to upgrade. It has great potential just not worth the money that was spent.
