Comfy bed.
Depressing looking, and unreasonably expensive.
Within close distance to central station.
Basic facilities. Bit. rundown. We had to change rooms when we arrived because the toilet blocked.
Location was good
Spacious apartment. Kitchenette very good but would have appreciated a toaster. Very good shower. Great roof terrace with views of the city. Convenient location near shops. Staff very friendly.
Leaky air conditioners and one of the terrace doors didn't open.
In principle it's a perfect place. The apartment itself was spacious, clean and well organized. The location is also pretty good, maybe 15 min to the Central station where from we managed to explore the city by walking. Although the bus stop is really in front of the hotel. The big supermarket is also on the other side of the road. The apartment had big and nice balcony with beautiful view on the city.
The kitchen faucet was absolutely loose. The other thing was the AC in the bedroom was dripping. We had to put under it a big bowl found in the kitchen with a towel in it in order to muffle the dripping sound which did its job only partially. At the morning I've informed the receptionist which isn't there at the night hours about it and she definitely did her job properly. Technicians surely have been in the room as we found the faucet fastened but the AC dripping got even worse. There is something else. The reception desk works only till 17.30, and the information about this is hidden in fine print. This information is crucial and has to be stated clear and visible at the first sight. We didn't see it at the time of booking, and by sheer miracle arrived two minutes before the receptionist left. Otherwise we could have found ourselves in the huge problem.
At check-in the staff offered us an upgrade to a one-bedroom apartment with a roof terrace. The upgrade only cost 10 Euro per night and was well worth it. The apartment was large and the roof terrace offered stunning views of Antwerp. The bed was comfortable and the apartment had a fridge/freezer, an oven and a stove top. The kitchen was equipped with everything needed to cook your own food. The apartment was also air conditioned which was nice as they were having a heat wave during our stay. The property is a short walk to the subway and close to the Central Station.
The shower floor is painted and very slippery. My hope is that the staff will remedy this to make taking a shower safe, especially for older folks like me.
