I have just returned from an incredible stay at the Arlo SoHo. I travelled for work for the first 4 days, holding day and evening events in the Studios on the 2nd floor of the Arlo SoHo, and then I had 4 days of fun, exploring the city with my husband who flew out to join me. Everything about the hotel is so lovely, I’ve had the BEST time! Walking in to the hotel was always such a delightful experience! From being greeted on the door, to the fresh smell, cool air and cleanliness, it was a great place to be. The rooms are clean, with super comfy beds, and the bathrooms were really good. I felt snug and safe in my room. The food in the hotel is excellent. Breakfast at Lindens is wonderful. I also had excellent coffees from the café in the lobby, as well as yoghurt/granola, and croissants/snacks when I didn’t fancy a fuller breakfast. The lobby café is open 24/7 which is really excellent when up and about at unusual times with jetlag and travel. The rooftop bar is gorgeous, and the speakeasy in the lobby is also really beautiful to sit in and have a drink. The location is perfect for exploring Manhattan, just a few minutes walk to the river and a couple of different subways. It’s clean, interesting and I felt very safe walking around. It’s very easy to walk to loads of places, and I walked to the West Village, Greenwich, Meatpacking District and the Financial District. Every single person there was so friendly and helpful. I had many enjoyable conversations with the Arlo folks, and felt sad to be leaving. I’d love to mention Bersalia, Ivan and Moises at the front of house. Wonderful people! Also to the lovely man who works in the lobby café bar. We spoke a number of times, I’m sorry I didn’t catch your name. Every single person at the Arlo Soho has been excellent to meet. Thanks to you all – my time in New York was so good and I can’t wait to return at some point!
Everything was perfect
- Very close to subway getting you wherever you need to be and a number of good restaurants closeby - Room size was bigger than anticipated, though more suited for individual stays - Staff were overall quite friendly, but limited in how they could respond to things
- Room was not very sound proof, could hear everything in neighbour's room (including talking) and honking from the street (even though had a 7th floor courtyard facing room) - No one came to clean my room for first two days of stay. Had to go request this from the front desk - Trying to get early check in was a nightmare. Understand hotel policy, but wish they were more honest to just say that it's virtually impossible to get. Arrived at 7am from a 15hr flight and was basically told the only place to go was out of the hotel. Room only became available at 2pm (actual check in from 3pm). Better off booking an extra night if you plan to arrive anytime before 10am on a longhaul flight
Great location. Excellent rooftop bar. Nice restaurant downstairs.
Rooms are very small & toilet is not very private.
