Albergue El Camino de Santovenia

This albergue is 3 km off of the Camino from San Juan de Ortega (where the sole albergue's horrid reputation is renowned) The Camino was very busy , so I'm glad I booked it as others who tried to get a room without a reservation (in the next village of Ages) ended up walking much further. In the morning, it was just 2km back up to the Camino. So basically just an extra 2kms for a beautiful albergue, with gracious and kind hosts and really good food. The beds were new, spaced out and comfortable. Not crowded at all. The bathrooms were clean and modern. I would totally recommend this place.

Really clean and well run

Its an alburgue so you are sleeping in a bunk room, no privacy

The staff were very nice and friendly.

They have bed bugs. I got more than 15 bites the next morning. I suffered from the bite reaction for more than 3 days, had to wash all my clothes and sleeping bag and also had to do very hot tumble dry at the next accommodation. Because of that I had to spend money for buying medicine, cream and using washing machine and a dryer two times each.

Hosts were awesome and very accommodating.

There staff were very kind and helpful.

There were no fans in the room and with that many bodies, on a hot night, it was extremely hot and difficult to sleep.

Very kind and considerate owners with nice bar and restaurant. So far, the bar was the only place who gave a bowl of peanuts with beer. Loved their menu del dia. Good price! I could feel they care for the customers

I had trouble for sleeping due to other guests who snored very much, but that is part of journey. Dont have any complaints
