The staff was amazing. Always helpful and friendly. Super respectful and accommodating.
The entire hotel was beautifully decorated. The service was amazing, the staff were so friendly. We loved all the little extras like coffee, water, candies and cookies in the lobby.
Everything
From check-in to check-out everything was fabulous. This boutique style hotel decor, service and property were top-notch in every way. The butler coffee service area on every floor is brilliant. Great morning coffee outside our door is a convenient touch. Refreshments in the lobby daily also a nice feature.
A small casual cafe in the hotel property to grab a pastry or extra coffee or a smoothie without going to the pool cabana would have been nice but not a deal breaker. I also didn't appreciate the cost of a diet coke and a cup of ice water $7.00 !
The location was in the midst of numerous music venues downtown. So it was convenient. And near many restaurants. The decor of the hotel was arty and contemporary. We had to change rooms and after we changed, the room was better.
We were initially given a small room at the farthest point from the elevator next to the building's outside air conditioning unit (noisy-room 805) so we asked for a different room and were given a better room but it was being serviced when we checked in. It did feel insulting. We went to sit by the pool. We were not given towels to put on the lounge chairs (the long white ones) like the couple next to us?? It was late in the day. The staff seemed harried. Our waitperson was nice but the others were not friendly. Decided to try the valet service but had to wait outside for about 30 minutes to get a ride. Beware - parking was $60 for an overnight.
Stayed at Hotel ZaZa yesterday and honestly don’t think I’ll be coming back. The girl at the front desk was super sweet, but the guy with glasses made the whole check-in feel cold—just not welcoming at all. I also got charged a $5 delivery fee for room service… just to bring it from the kitchen to the room? That felt unnecessary. Then $59 for parking overnight, which is wild considering that’s the same price as a 5-star hotel down the street—and this place doesn’t compare. Also, $7 for a black coffee at the bar? Kind of excessive. There’s construction that starts around 6:30 am. The valet guys were really nice though, so props to them. But overall, the service and vibe just didn’t match the price tag.
