Island Hotel Katarina

Surprisingly outstanding buffet breakfast. Lots of variety and fresh, tasty food. The island was very peaceful and serene. The rooms was very clean and spacious with a large balcony.

The property is extremely dated and run down. Most of the staff could have been much more welcoming and hospitable. Major vibes of former Eastern Bloc attitudes. Sanja was especially friendly (and she was the only one!), but the men in blazers, walking around doing absolutely nothing seemed almost totally untrained in hospitality. Just walking around trying to look busy, but doing nothing. The staff also seemed pretty unhappy. The entire property needs to be renovated. There were beautiful nesting birds all around the island and the groundskeepers were using trimmers and blowers right next to the nests REALLY upsetting the mother birds. Maybe these men should be repairing the exteriors of the buildings that have peeling paint and corroded, rusting metal everywhere, instead of harassing nesting birds with gardening tools. It just felt like a dilapidated old resort that time forgot. TONS of kids.

Good selection of food choices and plenty of them.

The hall ways were like sound Chamberss. Very echo prone. When some one would close a door to hard it would sound like a cannon going off.

Staff was absolutely amazing, very nice, helpful and friendly. Hotel location is in my opinion one of the best in Rovinj, amazing if you want to enjoy nature, sea and beautiful view of old town Rovinj. We will definitely come back! Veliki pozdrav od komija iz Srbije

Great location, excellent food,beautiful garden,plenty of places to sunbathing and swimming.Beds were super comfortable!!

Rooms were dated, furniture dated. Cleaning in the rooms were pretty good but left the balcony completely untouched. Seagulls made a mess there and it was not cleaned during our stay.TV broke, the stuff showed no interest of fixing it. I know it's an island but could have tried to do something about the Seagulls. They stole the food right out of your plate,it was impossible the eat outside.

Room was quite small. No tea/coffee making facilities in room.

The location is amazing, you have a view of Rovinj from everywhere. I loved that the hotel has a rustic feel. The breakfast and dinner were amazing, the food was delicious. The staff is super helpful and friendly. Amazing stay, can't wait to come back.

Extremely comfy, modern, squeaky clean accommodations, friendly and knowledgeable staff, and a stupendous location (sea organ is 3 minutes away, walk into old town five minutes!) make staying at the Maistra a real pleasure.
