The staff and Bell boys were terrific, the only thing was the bed was one of the most uncomfortable beds ever. Pretty disappointing for a Marriott.

I was charged a $9.95 internet fee for each of my two rooms, even though I became a member before connecting to the internet—and the membership clearly stated that internet is free for members. I brought this up with the front desk, but they still didn’t refund the charges.
Nothing went well! Sent guest to another location at a higher rate for THEIR (hotel staff) incompetence!
This property responded to my requests - feather free room, quiet room away from lifts and vending- saying that they would do their best to try to accommodate. I understand that this is not always something that can be accommodated. The issue is that in that same request included the notes that the hotel room was booked for 2 nights so that the guest could check in on arrival the next morning at approximately 11:30 am and to please not give away the room. Upon arrival, the guest was told they were a no show as they hadn't checked in the day before and that there were no notes on the account DESPITE the fact that I had received a written acknowledgement that the notes were read. They then refused to refund the payment because they insisted that he was a no show. To further the fact that they knew this was not the case, there was a package delivered for the guest at 9 am the morning of check-in and the front desk accepted the package- which hotels usually won't do unless its for a guest of the hotel. I had confirmation of delivery. The staff on duty refused to rectify the situation and I believe that it was because (as they admitted) the hotel was fully booked and they had no rooms as no one had checked out yet- which leads me to believe that they gave away the room in the hopes that a room would be available on the guests arrival HOPEFULLY and when this wasn't the case someone removed the notes (notes confirmed to be on the reservation by the hotels customer service department supervisor) to cover their own tracks, most likely why they refused a refund as well. I will never book this particular Marriott ever again and I will tell all of my clients to not book as well, unless there is a change of staff and the situation is rectified. Again, I have notes, in writing, acknowledging the fact that I told them arrival time and not to give away the room and yet they did and blamed the guest as a no show.
The hotel is very close to the Historic Gaslamp Quarter, the heart of San Diegos dining and entertainment district,is located minutes away from the World-Famous San Diego Zoo, Seaport Village, Little Italy, Coronado, and Old Town.
