San Diego Marriott Gaslamp Quarter

This Marriott hotel Gaslamp Quarter is not as good as Courtyard we stayed last time in San Diego. It’s quite old deco with very cheap color lights in the reception, and only 3 lifts working in such high building. The staffs in reception were not friendly. Check in was not smooth as usual.Though we didn’t renew our membership, we keep staying in this brand hotel sometimes but our experience was not as good as other Marriott hotels during this stay. The WiFi is not free in the room when we checked, while free WiFi is available in the air with many airlines. As we have full package with AT&T no limitations, so we didn’t connect to WiFi in the room but we were requested to pay 9.95$ when we checked out. The staff in the reception had no patience and challenging our honesty, refused to waive the mistake or let IT service to check if we used WiFi. Finally the other staff came out to help us to return the charge, but we were sure we would not go back to this hotel.

Well located, friendly reception staff

Property a bit dated, room smelled musty & unfresh, bed & pillows aged, all facilities aged, no locker, top shelves dusty, shower old, some restaurant staff not so friendly, breakfast not hot…
