Location
Old. Needs a deep cleaning
The lobby and mezzanine are very striking and appealing.
The bathrooms are terrible…smallest hotel bathrooms I’ve ever experienced:
The location in Providence was not bad.
There was no warning online about the bad cooling system there should be warning there is one type, it was set at 70 and wasn’t near cold enough as it’s a hot humid day. I went to get drinks as my mom had diabetes and her blood sugar went low, the vending machine was broken, so I called the desk asked where another was located and told the 8th floor I traveled up there and that was broken, went to 10th and 12th floor same thing all vending machines broken and no where else to buy drinks. When I called the front desk to let them know they told me I could come get some complimentary water. Well that’s great but good hospitality would have brought it up For me or better yet given it to me at check in or left in the rooms. The room smelt so old and musky/moldy it made me sick. Our shade was broken so we could barely move it. To make matters worse I decided to eat at the restaurant with my family and we had to go up to the bar for any service and the food was absolutely horrible. My fish and chips over cooked and tasted like nothing, it was the worst meal I’ve ever eaten in Rhode Island. And I never got a refill on any drink. I will never recommend or stay at this place again and it’s turning me off from hiltons in general. Also the parking garage to the hotel isn’t accessible for handicap as they don’t let you in from the back entrance or the hotel even with a hotel key making it so you need to go around the whole building. So much for enjoying our time celebrating my mom being cancer free.
Room is lovely, small, but typical for an old hotel. The services should be a bit nicer re: the restaurant and the hours.
The AC was awful. The room never got below 74 despite the AC being set much lower. We eneded up checking out and going to another hotel. Aslo, this used to be attached to a restaurant that matched the hotle in terms of style and what is there now is just OK and wilth not great hours. I imagine, like me, many are on business trips. It would be nice to go to a nice dinner on site and if not, come baclk to the hotel and sit for a drink.
