Great location, we loved this hotel, it it quirky, clean and minimilist. Our room was big with modern amenities. Super little pool and restaurant/bar on the roof overlooking the sqaure. Staff were very helpful especially when we arrived and left due to the teachers strike distruptions. Would recommend this hotel.
Location and its modern interiors
The libby lacked lighting.
Despite catering more to foreign tourists than locals, the experience at Círculo Mexicano provided us with a very first glimpse of Mexico. Its location allowed us to experience the real city.
Could not try the sandals (they were none in our room :/ )
The staff was lovely, room was great but quite loud (e.g. the airco especially, and i could hear lots of loud noises from other rooms and the hallway). The rest was perfect, especially the rooftop!
Lots of noise in the rooms and the location is definitely not the best/most friendly for tourists, so you need to be very careful in the area.
The design is very cool and thoughtful. We had superior larger rooms in overlooking the square, which were very good size.
Quite a few things: - water in the pool is ice cold. It is not intended for people to swim, but rather to get in and out when it is hot - breakfast included are a complete disaster: super limited offer and namely says “1 piece of bread”. There are no European options like avocado toast or similar (no French toast or pancakes, you can forget about it). Most people took poached eggs, black coffee (cappuccino not included), and pay additional for avocado (in Mexico…). The restaurant staff is super slow, brings wrong staff and doesn’t speak English. Takes ages to have a simple breakfast. Salt is not on the table and they have to fetch it, usually takes 5 minutes. Basically, you end up paying for it to get anything “extra” normal. - water in the rooms is limited to 1 carafe. They don’t have more carafes in the hotel is you ask for it. - bathroom on the ground floor is not for customers, but for staff only. So if you are waiting for a taxi, please go upstairs to use wc. - no coffee/tea, sleepers, bathrobes or similar in the rooms - reception female staff is not very fast and not particularly welcoming. Very factual, and slow with any requests. These are just a few to name. Since this hotel has been in a few city guides and designer magazines like Cabana, it turned out very disappointing
