We were upgraded to a Napua room and it just about made our trip. It was such a lovely room with the ocean view and size. It also included other perks, including a lounge with breakfast, snacks, and a personal concierge. We had already booked all of our tours so we mostly just enjoyed the lounge benefits. The breakfast and snacks were nothing to write home about per se... and they weren't awfully vegetarian friendly... but they were a bonus we didn't expect and they saved us the hassle of finding ourselves breakfast each morning. The staff was also so helpful - I had sat in gum at some point so I asked for warm vinegar and a toothbrush to try to get it out. They brought it right up, which was wonderful and honestly a bit surprising. They had a text service for that kind of thing, which made it so easy to request help. It was right along the beach path and by a cute little beach.
Mandatory valet parking at $65/day is steep. The pool chair policy (that the staff would remove things from chairs if they aren't used for over an hour so people didn't just hold chairs all day) was not actually enforced, which was annoying AF. We were by the pool hoping for seats in the shade and there was one set that had stuff on it for over 2 hours with no people coming/going. We told the staff and they just kept pushing us off. We get why they don't actually enforce it - they don't want confrontation with the original people - but it really sucked for us. The people eventually showed up and my husband kind of called them out. They moved their things to another set of two chairs and gave us the originals because they weren't actually staying then either... and then proceeded to leave the chairs "reserved" and empty for another two hours. It was annoying to experience.
Huge property with many ammenities and looks like lots of activities for kids
The location was incredible! The beach, the sunsets, the palm trees, the views, the oceanfront path. The slides and pool was unreal. It was perfect for my family and my mom's 70th birthday celebration with all the little cousins.
The lines! There were lines at Lolou the casual coffee shop every morning there were lines to get wrist bands. Even though we were there 3 nights, you had to be there 4 nights in order to have a multi day wrist band so every morning we all needed to wait in line to get a wrist band and towels. After waiting in line for breakfast then waiting in line for wrist bands it made each day feel like the whole vacation was going to be spent waiting in line.
Location was really nice
If was big but so busy and full of kids. Property was outdated and I felt like staying at a luxury motel.
