The Hollywood Roosevelt

It is a beautiful, classic hotel. Great location. Paid parking is available. Staff was nice enough from check in to bar service, bag service and check out. Note: this is a party scene pool hotel. EDM/lounge music all day and a crowd that can tend to act/dress more 'adult'. It is also a crowded pool scene...very happening. Cadillac Margaritas were good. All bar/restaurant tabs include 18% service - and staff makes sure that you know that.

We were disappointed in our in ability to check in on time. We had hoped for an early check in (and realize this is a requests), but our room was not ready an hour after check in. As a pool side lounge room, checking in at 3PM is a big difference from 4:30. However, staff was accommodating after the initial wait of an hour, they offered a room that was ready, on a different floor and they refunded the difference for the downgrade - and bought us a drink. NICE TOUCH!

The main thing was the location and the history of the building! Fantastic location in the heart of Hollywood. The room we had was clean, tidy and comfortable no view but, not needed as you stepped out of the building right opposite the Kodak theatre and the Hollywood stars. Our floor was so quiet! The pool area was crazy busy with a DJ not relaxing but, a definite experience to have!

Only having one lift for our entire stay was inconvenient as at times we had to go up a few floors to then go to the lobby floor as the lift were often full. Other than that everything else was great.

Nice view from the 12th floor, the pool area is very nice with a DJ and bar, good vibes. Inside bar is nice and fancy as well.

Check in is at 3, we arrived at 5 and they said there was no rooms available yet... the receptionist went to the back to see if he could figure out something else and came back out with a room that was ready. Then, for the amount of money you spend on the room, you'd think they'd have functioning elevators. Theres only 2 elevators and 1 of them was broken. Took almost 30 minutes waiting in a line to get into the elevator. Parking, park in the parking structure across the street, it's half the price of the hotel. Hotel is a rip off. I've stayed at other hotels near by that are nicer for less money.
