I was excited to visit St. Barth for the first time for my 50th Birthday. Staying at The Pearl Beach Hotel, I ended up having the worse birthday ever. There was an outage two days with outside temperature over 90 degrees. No running water and no electricity. On July 10th 2023, the water and electric was out that entire evening, could not shower to go out that evening and sitting in the dark hoping it would come back on and it never did. Then on July 11th, the water and electric was out during the day. We literally had to leave the hotel that day because we were not able to shower and it was really unbearably hot in our room with no air conditioning. I was there for my birthday and It was such a big disappointment because we were not able to shower and get dressed and do what we had planned for that day. The hotel only wanted to compensate 50% off for only one night because the outage was at night, but they didn't want to compensate for the next day because the outage was during the day, which doesnt make sense at all, since we were totally inconvenienced on both days of the outage whether it was during the day or night. although the outage was beyond their control, I felt that it would've been fair to be compensated 50% off for the two days (one outage at night and the other outage during the day) that we were there without electricity, whether the outage was during the day or night. Til this day August 2, 2023, they still have not even refunded us the 50% off for one night either. Unfortunately St. Barth isn't gonna be much of a memorable moment for me. Thanks to The Pearl Beach Hotel that doesn't want to take accountability and do right by their guest.
Great staff and customer service, food was very good. Beach and location were great. Overall we really enjoyed our stay.
Rooms could use a little design help. They are very simple which is totally fine but I think better artwork and decorative touches would go a long way. We did find one cockroach on its back in our bathroom over the course of our 5 night stay. Not a big deal but maybe would be good to fumigate? Our room came with a huge private terrace which is really nice but there was nothing really there to use. I wouldve loved to see an outdoor shower out there- but these are just small things!
Great hotel in the best possible location for some of the hotspots in St Barths. We were able to walk to Gyp Sea, Nikki Beach, Eden Rock all within 10 minutes along one strip. Staff were very helpful and friendly and room was perfectly clean.
Facilities were beautiful! Bed was very comfortable. The pool was a nice reprieve from the beach. We loved the breakfast that was included as well as the welcome champagne. They also included pick up and drop off from the hotel and ferry. So overall it felt like a very good value for very upscale accommodations!
It's not close to Gustavia. That was done for us, but if you wanted to be close to the"city" this was not.
