Great Location, rooms were nice with comfortable bed. Nice rooftop patio.
The service was not great, concierge were unhelpful and bar/restaurant service was slow at times. We also had an issue where someone went into our room (presumably a cleaner) as they took a few towels but didn’t clean our room and left the door ajar (deadbolt was open keeping the door from closing). When we phoned about this they said an investigation would be done. The only thing they looked at was key usage and said the last to leave was ‘the guest’ which was simply not the case. They were rude and lacked empathy for the situation. Thankfully nothing was missing however very concerning their lack of care or urgency on this matter. We have stayed in many luxury hotels/accommodations where the service was matched or exceeded your expectations… I would have expected more from ‘The Ritz’ and would not recommend this hotel.
Great with clean and services
The room was not prepared as I made a reservation. I had to change 3 times for the room. May be because some system is not good between Booking . Com and The hotel? I made a reservation with lake view and bath tub but first room was non bath tub. 2nd room was non lake view. Finally hotel changed to lake view with bath tub but at the window there is additional curtain and I could not enjoy full view.
It was elegant great location awesome staff room and bed was comfortable
A bit pricey but I was completely satisfied
It was very nice, hooked up with family from Florida. Location was Great. Walked a lot, our weather was perfect. Had a view with city and Navy Pier, that was nice, was able to watch the fireworks from our room. The shower was great. The bed super comfy.
Only thing I didn't like was when paying for our parking in the Water Tower Garage a joined to the Ritz we did not get a receipt so I don't know how much I was charged.
It was below my expectations. Not the Ritz I used to know.
First, when I arrived one hour after the arrival time informed to the Hotel, due to bad weather conditions, the Ritz had canceled my reservation … imagine I was arriving after a 12 hours trip with my daughter late night. They managed to resolved the issue as they were fully booked and put me in a room just in from of the elevator. And I only made one request at the time of booking: “far away from elevators”. I felt like they were doing a favor ! Not receiving the treatment for the amount paid. Anyway, I have to say that the rest of the personal made our stay easy going: the servers and at the restaurant, the room service for the day of our race (the Chicago half marathon), at 4:50am and the cleaning ladies of the room, the nicest! For a 5 star hotel and the brand “Ritz Carlton” Certainly I expected something above average. On their behalf, I requested an extension for our check-time and the lady at the front desk was kind to agree a couple of hours more so we can leave back home and a long flight without rush.
View of the lake
The reception did not properly explain the amenities of an upgraded suite. I asked her to explain what a roll in shower was. She explained it as sum sort of showering device you roll into the room. Staff should be able to explain all the amenities that are available. Maybe there was a language barrier.
