NiceGreat sea views
I was travelling with a group for my wedding and the overall feedback was very mixed. Personally I had a nice stay, the view from the sea view room was stunning and the rooftop was absolutely amazing. There were a few interesting rules, such as the fridge being cable tied shut because we were not a ‘premium’ room. Although this didn’t bother me, a lot of my guests were frustrated as they had travelled from Australia and had nowhere to store their food and drinks. Reception were not the most helpful, I had emailed several days in advance to organise the rooms being located on the same floor for the guests, they never replied and seemed uninterested when I arrived saying “the hotel was fully booked”. Although it wasn’t a terrible experience, I would’ve liked a little more enthusiasm, as I had chosen this hotel for my wedding party to stay at for 4 nights. Overall myself and my husband had a nice stay.
Going into this, I really wanted to enjoy my four night stay at the Radisson Blu in Nice as the photos looked fantastic. Unfortunately upon arrival, reality has demonstrated the advertisement is very out of date. After a long haul flight from Australia I was woken every day by constant drilling, and a clock tower that would signal me every hour to the average buffet from 6am (went once, and decided to eat from the lovely restaurants on the streets after). To top off interruptions and disturbances, I was also greeted by guest services waltzing into my room at 8am the day of check out to deliver water, and commence their cleaning which I find completely unacceptable prior to patrons checking out. We were here to celebrate a friend’s wedding, and required a fridge to cool our refreshments / snacks for a boat tour of the French Riviera. After attending local markets and purchasing beautiful fruit, and juice that was stored in the fridge I was greeted with luke-warm at best produce. I was later informed that because a premium room wasn’t purchased; we weren’t provided with hotel basics 101 - refrigeration??? I’d also like to mention, if you are someone that enjoys choosing your room temperate - Radisson Blu in Nice isn’t the place for you. The heater was cranked up, and we had no way of controlling how hot/cold the room was! Upon discussion with reception, we were informed that cool air would be allowed into the rooms next week which really didn’t provide me with a solution to sleepless nights, and various interruptions. Further comments: - black mould on air conditioning vent - Rooftop was lovely.
The rooms had no Aircon - hadn't been switched on after the winter?!As a result room.so hot - opening windows meant loud road noise. Moved to a room at the back of the hotel and noise of the trams etc. So had to sleep with ear plugs - not the end of the world but annoying. It was our second visit to this hotel ans previously we liked it. How can a hotel like this not have Aircon in the rooms?
Fridge in the room didn’t work and when asked I was told it’s because I didn’t upgrade to a premium room? Drilling and hammering renovation work being done right above my room that woke me up and continued all day every day I was there, and when asked no compensation was given. Also mould on the roof. It’s not a hostel, paid a decent amount for a room and can’t even have a working fridge or quiet. Disgusted honestly.
The breakfast was lovely, great selection of food and all very fresh. The room was so lovely and clean and kept clean throughout our stay. The view from our room was amazing.
The wine glasses in our room were not cleaned and put back on the shelf dirty. Some of the plates at breakfast weren’t cleaned completely.
