The inside was comfortable. The room that my husband and i stayed in had a very unpleasant odor. I had trouble sleeping.
Our room had a very unpleasant odor. I had a trouble sleeping.
Easy to get from property to the heart of the city. Obvious that at one time the lodge was a lovely place.
The size of the junior suite was relatively small so that when the sofa bed was pulled out, there was very little room to maneuver. The sheets of the sofa bed had not been changed, and the provided blanket had holes. The key to one of the buildings did not work. The cushioned bench that served as a seating area was worn and dirty. The door to the balcony would not open to the tired furniture. The staff was very young, and relatively unable to respond to complaints. They seemed to lack training, but also much concern about the issues that were raised. One of our friends on the second morning had no hot water in her building.

Let’s start with the room: bathroom was infested with ants. Shower faucet was broken. The wall bench in the room had visible stains and smelled like dog poop. The sockets would not hold a standard sized plug. My hair straightener and phone charger would not stay plugged in to the wall chargers. There was no breakfast at all, even though the sign advertised there was breakfast until 10am at the front desk, and the restaurant has been closed since Covid. The staff no longer offers complimentary local drinks upon check in. The bar closed an hour earlier than advertised and the bartenders were sitting around drinking and refused to serve a paying customer. May I also mention I was charged $42 for a snack sized bag of Funyuns, small can of Pringles and sour patch kids from the “market”? This would have cost less than $10 at a gas station. I paid over $700 for a king suite at this location for 2 nights. I was charged the total cost of the stay, plus a $275 deposit the morning of my stay…8 hours before I arrived at the hotel. In addition, I had multiple attempts to charge my card over the next 2 nights. $50…$159.44… $42.09…there were a few others that my card automatically declined because they were flagged by my bank as potentially fraudulent. All in all, this was the worst stay I’ve ever had at a hotel. I stayed at the Lodge on previous occasions and the quality has gone down considerably in the last year alone.
Location close to downtown and clean rooms
I was charged with an amount higher than contracted by booking. According to the hotel it was due to their ERP system, did not have control of it and I was going to be refunded (still waiting when it has been a week).
