The Top of the Mark, and service throughout our stay.
Dated decor throughout hotel.
View from room. Helpful staff. Great bed.
We loved our Classic King Room with a good sized bed, nice bathroom with a bathtub which was great. Good toiletries and accessories such as a comb, sewing kit, etc. The room was beautifully furnished in a period style and the city view was great. The lobby area is very nice. The concierge, Ric Lee, was very helpful and gave us some good tips for places to have lunch on our final day in the city.
Both our visits to the Top of the Mark were frustrating. On our first night, we only checked in at 10.20pm as our plane landed 3 hours late. We'd had no dinner so went straight up to Top of the Mark, which advertised being open until 12.30am, only to find the kitchen closed at 10am and they were taking last orders for drinks. The server kindly found us some chips but we left as soon as we'd had our drinks to go out to find some food. The second night we went at 9.30pm for drinks. It was advertised as being open until 11pm but were told the servers had left for the night and we could sit at the bar on high chairs. We decided to leave as we didn't want to do. When we were seen leaving we were then told we could order drinks from the bar and sit where we wanted so we did that but the attitude left a bad taste in our mouths so we didn't stay long.
It is a classic, historic location and building. The room was fine; bed was super comfy, and the view was great. As retired military I had to visit the Top of the Mark Bar, receive a free shot, and sign the logbook.
