I enjoyed being able to also enjoy the Barcelo Bavaro Palace
My room definitely needs updating and had mosquitoes which they had to call the exterminator a few times during my stay which was only 4 nights. By the pool as well as at the buffet they dont really come over and serve you, I had to ask for everything
Overall the hotel was fantastic. We were in the adults side but managed to see almost all around the hotel. There was a shuttle that took us to the other aide of the hotel. Staff was very nice with us! The beach I can say its amazing! The food was good, not great not terrible as other were saying about this hotel. I can say that the coffee bar in the Beach side of the hotel was amazing and also the restaurant by the golf course was amazing!! The games at the pool and beach were nice and we could end up winning prizes.
What we did not like about this hotel: Some fleas or bed bugs in our room almost everynight. Also the bracelet for the all inclusive and room lock was poorly attached by the staff and it kept getting loose which could cost us 20$ or 50$(not sure) if we lose it. In the end guess what? While swimming my wife lost it.
Food was good. Drinks were exceptional. Staff was very helpful. Beach was well maintained
Not enough gift shop option at the adults only side.
Location was amazing, we loved that we could walk right onto the beach. They have so many stores and restaurants and options of things to do. Every staff member was polite and helpful.
Nothing! Everything was truly amazing. There were slight language barriers at times but we were always able to find a way to communicate.
Everything!!!! Everyone was friendly, the service was amazing!
The beach was about the only thing that we enjoyed about this resort, but even that has its issues. It was nice to be left alone and not harrassed by people selling stuff. The beach is definitely more of an active beach with rented activities happening all around. We did appreciate there being enough food options all hours of the day as we like to eat later meals.
The rooms were big, but we could hear everything outside and above us. There was daily housekeeping, but that didn't help the cobwebs, stained sheets and pillowcases, or the dirty dishes and ice container that our room had. We came to this resort from another resort, and somehow, I started getting bug bites when we arrived here. There is no service on the beach, and in order to be close enough to the one outside bar, then you have to fight for a chair. There could stand to be double the chairs on the beach. The food was mediocre. We are not picky at all-inclusive resorts, but even this was lacking. The biggest disappointment and frustration was the staff. At one point, we asked ourselves if the buffet staff had a goal of who could ignore the most people. Staff watched us walk in and sit down, and it took 5-10 minutes to get napkins, water, or anything else. Only one morning did I actually end up with coffee that I asked for. We were an inconvenience to staff at restaurants and the bars. I wouldn't recommend this resort at all. But, if the price is what you are looking for, I would recommend the palace side even though it is not adult only. The adults only side has one bar for the beach and pool, there is no swim up, and most of the nightly activities are on the palace side. We have stayed at the Rivera Maya Barcelo resort multiple times, and this was many stars below the quality of that resort.
