LTI Pestana Grand Ocean Resort Hotel

Reception staff on check in and check out were efficient, welcoming and professional. Our room on fourth floor had magnificent ocean views. Our rate included breakfast and dinner. We spent four nights at the hotel. Breakfast each day was very good. Many varieties of food. Dinner on Wednesday and Saturday nights was not very good. A strange assortment of food. Not very nice at all. Very disappointing. You would need a hire car to stay here. The hotel is a distance from the Funchal city centre.

The hotel is in a lovely position next to the sea with a beautiful outlook. The pool is lovely with lots of sun beds, the restaurants are all very nice. It was a relaxing stay in very pleasant surroundings. Would recommend!

The Pestana was really excellent in all ways. We were really well looked after, even bringing breakfast to our room for no additional cost when we wanted to get up early for a sunrise hike. It was a beautiful and cheerful place to relax after busy day. It was excellent value with half board and I would love to go back.

Perfectly located hotel near the coast surrounded by several pools, beautiful gardens and only 10 minutes from Funchal. The room was spacious with good beds and clean facilities. The hotel had 4 different restaurants to choose from . Both the buffet restaurant as the 3 themed restaurants served good quality and varieted meals by very friendly staff.

I had a very beautiful room with amazing views of the ocean and garden. It was very convenient that from the backyard of the hotel there is access to a path along the ocean, where you can run or just walk. There is a beautiful beach nearby. Relaxing near the pool is also very convenient; next to it there is a garden and grass on which you can place your sun lounger overlooking the ocean. Excellent access 5 minutes walk to Forum shopping center.

At first they gave me a very strange room overlooking the backyard, the exit from the underground parking and the road on the ground floor, for some reason with a kitchen, and the room did not look like a guest room, but rather like a staff room. This was not what I booked. But at my request, they quickly changed my room and I was very pleased. I want to say thank you for that. The hotel is a little old and if they could renovate it soon, it would be great. But, it should be noted that only the public areas of the hotel look old, and the rooms are in excellent condition and very well equipped. The air conditioning also worked great.
