My double-queen bedroom room looked recently renovated. It was very spacious and very clean. The bathroom was also big and new. I appreciated that the mini-fridge in the room was silent and didn't disturb me at night. Very good location, close to the beach (I was staying in Ventura for the Mountains 2 Beach marathon, so it was very convenient, with the finish line within only a few minute walk).
The hotel exterior and hallways are a little bit outdated. My double-queen bedroom, located at the end of the lower level of the west wing building, was very close to the freeway, and therefore was a bit noisy. Breakfast was just ok, nothing remarkable. Check-in is a bit late (4pm) and check-out is a bit early (11am). They accept late check-out for an extra fee on weekdays, but no late check-out at all is accepted on weekends. Parking is $10/day. Overall, it was a bit pricey for the value, although I reckon that fare was probably higher than usual because of the M2B marathon taking place that weekend.
The Inn is at a great location. The room we stayed in was definitely a vintage room. But we loved it. Beds were comfy and we had enough space in the room.
The registration room had a musty smell. I'm 82yrs old and difficulty with stairs. They told me only 4 steps and later found 16 steps downstairs with a cellar like atmosphere, areas of dirt with a filty looking atmosphere. Remembering they rang up a 384 dollar fee.....I went back to the office as this made no sense. Response was less than helpful....I left for a clean Best Western 130.00.
Lack of cleanliness, regard, and value for my dollar.
