The best thing about this hotel is its location: close to both the train station and the city center. Our room faced away from the tracks, so we had no issues with outside noise. The staff was friendly and helpful. However, there could be more facilities in the room, e.g., a kettle and a small fridge. Luckily, the staff helped us with these needs, although the reception was open only till 10 pm. Overall, it’s a good choice for a short stay :)
It was not too expensive considering breakfast.
The room was a bit small and also the parking was narrow.
Close to station, clean, nicely secure, staff was professional.
Breakfast is extremely expensive and it should be included for free. No meal given, no access to kitchen, fridge or microwave. The pantry should provide meals or allow us to make meal, Tv is bad, kettle should be given in room .
It was near the train station. It was modern with good security.
The computerised check in system, when I was given no warning of this, was an insult. I have stayed at many B & B hotels in this chain, and this was the first time there was no warm welcome. In fact, I found myself locked out when I tried to check in! After going through the whole computer system procedure, the machine told me I would be sent a code to get into my room. In fact, I did not get any code. I got no email acknowledging my check in. In the end, having got access to the building by another guest, I then got into my room by asking a maid to call the manager to find out what my room code was. When I spoke to the manager later (a guy whose name started with Y - he said he was Ukrainian), he did not apologise at all to me. Instead he told me that the hotel did not get my email address when I booked, so they couldn’t send me the room code. As I said to him, “well, that’s a massive failure in your system.” He did not agree with me and wanted to argue the point! The fact is, because of the way I was treated (not only at check in but by this manager guy too) I will never go back. Mind you, he was not wearing a name tag. I had to ask him directly to get his name and the information about him. Someone who represents the hotel at Reception should always wear a name tag. It’s basic hospitality. And that was what was lacking at this hotel - basic hospitality!
The room is soo clean and the location of the hotel is sooo goood. Overall i like it.
There are no free water bottles in the room which you need to purchase from the snack machine at the hotel.
strategic location near Altona Hbf, close to shops and restaurants, parking place behind hotel (limited space and cannot be reserved though)
the way around hotel is rather challenging (there are two hotels under same group which are sharing the building, and you need to find way through connecting passages, etc.).
