Good
Stayed here three times now but certain areas are getting pretty dingy. Just gotta clean up some areas and especially the carpeting. Tone down over stocking of accessory furniture. Place more of a focus on pond area—-very charming. That gosh awful entrance to elevator is scary
Their breakfast buffet was delicious and their dining room has an amazing view of a small harbor on the canals. This hotel is walkable from the museum district, and convenient to the airport.
It is about a 15 minute walk from the tram system, so it is not as convenient to public transportation as other hotels closer to the center city.
The decor is beautiful. The room was comfortable and mostly clean. The room which had a canal view was quiet. Loved the bar downstairs. We thought the barman from Greece was excellent (Leonidas?) and made us his own cocktail which was outstanding. The reception staff were all very helpful and professional. The location was good. We mostly walked to different parts of the city which took an average of 15/20 minutes.
Two of the chairs in the room had stains on the seats which was off putting. Who knows what these were from which did make us feel a bit unsure of the rest of the cleanliness in the room.
Very clean nice hotel near transport
It was a place to sleep.
This property is very average and I would not consider it to be a true 4 star hotel, particularly at their nightly rate. The website pictures are very deceiving, as this property is long overdue for a renovation. The shower was the worst design I've ever seen in the 1st world, difficult to get in and out of, shower head in an ridiculously awkward location and a half glass panel that refused to keep the water inside the shower. In addition, when I booked through booking.com, an additional night was added on that I did not request. When trying to correct this system error, neither company would take any responsibility for the extra night's charge and cancel and refund the approximately additional $300~ for a night that I did not occupy the room. It's very likely that they probably double dipped and sold it again knowing that I wasn't returning that night. Due to this, I did not spend any additional funds in the restaurants or bar, and was so frustrated by the poor customer service by both booking.com and the Apollo that I will never use booking.com again nor will I stay on any other Marriot property.
