Hyatt Paris Madeleine Hotel

-good sauna area -tea was complimentary while waiting for the room -great large room with comfortable king size bed, couch and city view -bathtub + shower in the room -clarins shampoo / shower gel -good breakfast menu (better than the small buffet) -hand written note for the new year

-romantic package for a proposal was ordered for the evening, but we did get it at the afternoon when we visited the room for the first time, so it didn't work out as an evening surprise ; the package was kind of small for 200 EUR (the moet was changed vs. just two bottles of coke, a bottle of Veuve would have been 100 EUR more expensive, although it is nearly the same price as Moet) -at checkin we did not get information about the gym, the spa or the restaurant -there was confusion at the reception desk about our breakfast reservation, which was agreed upon beforehand via booking.com messages -one of the receptionists had some trouble with english -staff is wearing sneakers -bathroom: very loud toilet door, you cant close the door without a noise, its not possible to use the bathroom without weaking up your spouse -cheap plastic toilet seat -thin, cheap toilet paper -no toilet brush -thin walls: we could hear the guests above us, loud street noise -the night light was way to bright, we had to put a book before it -no shoehorn -no waterboiler (as promised on booking. com) -coffee pads were not refilled -WiFi had to be reconnected many times -tea at the hotel restaurant: brewed before serving, so we did not know the correct brewing time, no space for the used teabag -steam sauna was under construction -room upgrade: breakfast was not included, although the better room at booking.com had breakfast for the same price -very expensive stay (about 700 EUR a night over NYE) - for this price we were awaiting an extraordinary 5 star experience -->it was just good, but not luxury at the highest level -we were not asked to become members at world of hyatt -I think we would not come back to this specific hotel
