Beautiful old building, friendly and helpful staff, we stayed one night in a four poster bedroom, which we paid extra for - it was lovely with a very comfortable bed, a beautiful view and we had a great sleep - no noise from other guests - it was so quiet that we were so surprised to see so many people at breakfast as we hadnt seen or heard any other guests during our stay!
Some areas are quite tired and it would benefit from refurbishment with decor in keeping with the age of the building - our bathroom was huge and had a bath but there was no overhead shower. The mirror light above the sink and the vanity mirror light did not work. There was a lot of mismatched furniture of different styles in the bedroom and hallways.
Clean room, soft towels, lovely and friendly staff, nice lounge area.
Bed was lumpy, and I didn't sleep very well as a result. The shower was very weak.
Peaceful, clean, food good & staff very friendly & accommodation.
The weather?
It was a fantastic central location in the heart of Pitlochry. Only a 5/10 minute walk to the centre and was very handy for the annual Enchanted Forest. From the outside, the hotel looks incredible.
The room was absolutely freezing cold, and only one of the heaters worked. The one that did work was barely warm. We had to call the reception at 10 pm due to this. They managed to turn up the heating a little more but confirmed the other heaters were broken. The breakfast was basic, not much selection for fruit, but it was ok. The decor was pretty outdated also.
The continental was plentiful but the cooked breakfast was a bit on the small side. That said, the staff were wonderful, very attentive, and very friendly towards us and the children.
I had thought we would be staying in the hotel proper, when we were in a more modern building to the left. The walls were thin and we were lucky to have very considerate people staying around us.
Rooms were very clean & comfortable if a little dated. Excellent food & very attentive staff. Good location for the town, a few minutes walk on the flat.
