The staff was incredible. We tipped everyone throughout the week, but hope they're also getting paid fair wages from the Wyndham, they were literally the best part of the entire hotel experience. All of the servers at the restaurants and bars especially were kind and attentive. They truly made up for some of the down sides of the hotel stay. The food options were very diverse and delicious. We had originally expected to eat at a few restaurants downtown during the week but we enjoyed the dining options and spaces so much that we ate every meal at the hotel (downtown/5th ave was so crowded and we were harassed by shop owners every time we walked down the street... very unpleasant). The room itself was spacious and comfortable. Also, the cafe was amazing! The baristas were friendly and efficient, they made great lattes (even had almond milk) and it was open from 6am to 10pm.
We were visiting for our honeymoon and hoping for a quieter, more relaxing resort stay. Our "oceanview" room barely had a view of the ocean. We saw the Hilton and a parking area. From early morning til night we heard taxis, cars, and the backup beeps of tour buses. We were woken up by anyone passing by in the hallway, rolling cleaning carts or luggage or talking- the noise traveled right through the door. Called to see if we could be moved/upgrade our room but they were fully booked; offered us a room at the Hilton for $80 more per night, no ocean view but with a jacuzzi in the room. We passed. The pool area may not have been big enough for the amount of guests. Many people "claimed" beach chairs with towels early in the morning and barely even sat in the chairs all day. We heard the staff was actively trying to dissuade this behavior by removing some towels, but for the first two days we weren't able to find seats by the pool. One side of the pool had large speakers with dance music (one day it was a live DJ). Great if you want to drink, swim and play the pool games they offer, but we just wanted to relax, get some sun, and read a book. The rooftop pool was much more chill, and had a swim-up bar. The sun is best up there in the morning. The hot tub on the roof wasn't hot at all, it was more like a smaller pool. The beach is definitely quieter but it seems to be the only area where smoking is allowed, many people were smoking cigarettes /cigars there. Also, in the mornings the staff had to rake up the seaweed that collected on the small beach (they were so hard at work every day), but while this was going on the beach smelled super strongly of low tide/manure, so we only went to the beach in the afternoon. Also, Dos Equis was the only beer available at the hotel's bars and restaurants. Wish they had more options. The meat quality was mediocre but otherwise food was amazing.
Huge property . Fun pool party. Great food . Huge rooms
The beach isnt swimmable since its covered in seaweed
Awesome hotel, awesome food and awesome neighbourhood
The music in the SPA should be changed from time to time, after a while it gets annoying to hear the same "healing" tone
The property was very maintained and very clean. We really enjoyed our day on the rented cabana.
Unfortunately there was an ever present smell from the sea weed even though the beach was cleaned regularly. It was a challenge to find lounge chairs at the pool.
Great location and overall service is good
The shower handle was faulty and did not heat the water
