Quebec Citygreat location (walking distance to old city), room, garden view, hotel style, pool, concert
narrow parking slots in the underground parking, tricky to park and can scratch the car
Hotel staff were very friendly and helpful, especially the concierge staff. The room was a nice size and comfortable. We also found the rooms were very quiet.
Attached restaurant was o.k., but not great.
It’s location and the staff were the highlights.
Room was very old looking, broken counter in the bathroom with a piece easily removable. No usb port near the beds, had to unplug the old lamp to plug in our electronics and other, not enough ports. Shower is old with a glass door, hard to maneuver in and out off since the tub is high. Huge smell of pool chlorine when you walk in the lobby. The bar annexed to the hotel is in pitiful condition.
The hotel’s location is unbeatable, sitting right at the entrance to Old Quebec. Most major sights, like the Plains of Abraham and Petit-Champlain, were within a 15-minute walk, making it incredibly convenient for exploring the city. The staff were friendly and genuinely helpful, always ready to offer recommendations or assist with any needs. The rooms were spacious with comfortable beds—perfect for resting after a long day of sightseeing. A unique feature is the drive-through at the hotel’s entrance, a rarity shared only with the Fairmont Chateau Frontenac. This made arriving and departing with luggage a breeze. The pool was enjoyable, and the hot tub was a fantastic way to unwind at the end of the day.
On the downside, the cleanliness of the rooms left something to be desired. I noticed dirty corners and skid marks on the floors, which was a bit off-putting. Some light fixtures in our room didn’t work, which was inconvenient. Our balcony was disappointingly small—barely enough room for two people without one having to step aside. The shower was tricky to manage, with loose knobs making it hard to adjust the water temperature, which often ran scalding hot. The strong chlorine smell throughout the hotel was noticeable and not particularly pleasant. Also, the lack of a smart TV was a letdown; the cable offerings were mostly in French, so we had to rely on our own devices for entertainment. Lastly, the sofa bed was uncomfortable, which was a minor issue for our group.
Breakfast was delicious
I should’ve requested a handicap room the shower in the tub was difficult to get in and out of. Breakfast was delicious but very expensive
