We loved the cozy feel of the suite and the facilities as a whole. The suite looked newly renovated, it was very comfortable. The lobby had a genuine ski resort feel. I felt relaxed and happy to be at our weekend resort. The staff was wonderful. The guests were all friendly and the breakfast was great. We didn't have a chance to spend time in the game room, but we will in future visits, it looks like a fun place to hang out in between hours. We look forward to staying here in the future.
I can't think of anything negative.
We love the Forest Suites Resort. This was our 3rd stay and as always it checks all of the boxes - location, hospitality, and an awesome breakfast. We finally got to the hot tub which helped ease the pain of learning how to ski that day. The pool slippers came in very useful - we still use them at home.
I don't have any complaints for our stay.
The stay was good and the location is awesome.
The individual(older male, long hair) at the check-in counter engaged in a subtle form of racism through microaggressions. I told the man that I had completed the check in formalities online while taking out my ID card and that when he asked me where I was from. I told him I live in San Fransisco. To that he said "where are you really from ?" And when I said India he said the following things: "Oh I figured you were from India !" "Indians always keep their IDs close to their chest ! Why is that ? Is it a thing in India ?" "Don't people in India ask you for ID card when you check in somewhere ?" I know the difference between being inquisitive and microaggressions and this definitely was a microaggression. All I was trying to tell him that I have completed the check in formalities online as well. I know I need to present my ID card at the hotel, why would he assume that I would not want to show it. I was really thrown by this experience and was by far the worst check in experience. It was not a great experience when after I drove 4 hours in the evening to get to Tahoe to have a nice weekend with my family.
