The quality of this hotel is very high. We were impressed by the rooms, the beautiful rooftop restaurant and Ayona on the front desk was very helpful and friendly. Housekeeping also did a great job, remaking our entire room every day. Opening on to the tram at Market Street, and being 2 minutes walk to Powell train station was also very useful.
This property gets a bad reputation for being close to the Tenderloin, an area of downtown known to have a large population of homeless people. The Turk St main entrance opens directly to this, and when we first arrived we were shocked and a little scared, not having seen this or read the reviews prior. As our time at the property continued, we came to realise that these people are largely harmless, and sadly are just caught in a cycle of addiction. We had to walk past them a few times, but they never did us any harm and we relaxed. The property has security, and also opens to Market St, (once you have your access cards), and feels safer coming and going on that side if it is too much for you. I think this property doesn’t deserve all of the negativity associated with the Tenderloin, because although it is right there, they can’t be blamed for a city-wide problem and they do their utmost best to accommodate you and provide a good experience inside.
Everything was good beautiful morden...Everything a hotel should be.
For the departure i was a bit dissatisfied. No personal attention. Also a print / email has to be given i never got to enquire about my final bill. Also my card was charged despite being told it was a hold on the account.
The location was not good, in the Tenderloin, lots of homeless nearby. We ate dinner at the rooftop restaurant, the food was expensive and nasty (ordered the cucumber salad). No ice machine.
Very clean and friendly staff
The location
Nice and clean great customer service
Outside was dirty there was no parking. On the booking add it said hotel parking included. But really wasn’t. And it never said anything about putting $200 deposit. Also when driving back from our meet all streets were blocked off to get back to the hotel for three hours. No one told us there was a parade going on they just told us there was no entering until 3pm
