There's a lot of history here, and the hotel feels extremely atmospheric. The public areas have been well-maintained, albeit some things have run done, e.g. the elevator was not working, and the corridors on the upper level could use some refinishing. The staff also felt pretty minimal, but those who were there were friendly and helpful. The location is great, and we felt very safe walking in the neighborhood. We ate both breakfast and dinner here and the food was fine.
Carrying our suitcases up all those stairs. (I counted more than 60). Getting into the parking area is a bit of a challenge, but at least there is parking.
The breakfast was great , though there wasn't lots of options. And it were the same options everyday
I didn't like the fact the hotel didn't shower gel . You need to use the same soap for washing hands and showering
Historical old building that has its original charming. Older staff amazing - young staff very badly under trained.
There were multiple issues of cleanliness. First bedroom had dirty sheets - so did second room . There was blood on one of the sheets - very gross They did upgrade me but the room was older and not renovated compared to the one I originally booked. The staff also never removed the table cloth between each guest - when it was covered in ketchup or coffee stains. Very offpitting
That this historic building, which stood for everything that was exclusivity Colonial, has adapted and re-emerged as an wonderful example of inclusivity, style and elegance.
I loved it all, especially its Old World Charm .
I loved the vintage dcor, It seemed that, at any moment, Lord Greystock himself would enter the sallon. The staff were absolutelly friendly, helpfull and efficient. And there was secure parking for my motorcycle.
No moskito screen on the windows, so after dusk you had to close them, and it got hot inside the room. The ceiling fan is insuficient to cool down the temperature.
Lovely beautiful old building filled with history! I loved it and will definitely visit again.
The noise and mess outside in the street from the street vendors and taxis. The Bulawayo City council needs to get their act together!
The hotel interior is like a museum.
