Holiday Inn - The Niu Charly Frankfurt City

The hotel is nice and well located, the room small but comfortable. I did have an issue - a friend of mine left me a gift downstairs, when I went to look for it they couldn’t find it. Once he was back, we went to look for it and find out they have opened it and took everything that was inside. That was not nice honestly.

Breakfast and location

Very small room. No water available. Neighborhood is not good to walk around.

The buffet breakfast was really comprehensive with good variety. It's around 5 minutes walk from the Frankfurt main train station which is handy. There's snacks (mostly drinks) available to purchase in the hotel however you have to go down to reception.

I booked a standard queen room and was given two single beds pushed together and a single-size doona. The room was smaller than I thought. The actual area around the train station is sketchy AF and when trying to locate this hotel I was looking for the Holiday Inn sign but what's outside is "the niu" which could be confusing. Reception also wasn't very warm or welcoming and I had to prompt her with my check in and really drag some information out of her which was super annoying.

I liked location.

the first night when I arrived I noticed that the heating in the room was not working..I reported this problem at the reception and I was given another room. in the second room, the heating also did not work. I went to the reception again and reported the problem. the man at the reception told me that the computer system does not allow him to change my room again. he told me to come the next morning and talk to his colleague.. the next morning I immediately went to the reception and reported the problem to the woman who was working at the reception that morning. she gave me the third room and said that the heating works in that room. when I entered the third room, I noticed that the heating was not working in it either. after that I came to the reception and said that I have a problem again. at the reception told me that the hotel generally has a problem with the heating. what impudence! if the hotel has this problem, then why does it say on the booking that the hotel has heating. please note, the friends in room 204 had regular heating. I froze. I tried to change room again, but that time at reception told me that all rooms are booked and there is no chance to replace my room. Also..they offered me free breakfast.. o told them that free breakfast cant solve my problem. I sent an e-mail with remarks and a request that a certain part of the money be returned to me. they still don't answer. very unprofessional..I do not recommend this hotel to anyone.

the hotel, room, breakfast are great!

What is terrible is the location! On the street of the hotel and around there are many drug users and terrible restaurants and shops! Unfortunately it was not a good experience, especially on New Year's! I do not recommend the city!
