Everything was fantastic, great to be able to return to the hotel on foot after being in the Universal theme parks. Great theming. Great facilities.
Was unable to book a Bay view room via Booking.com, apparently this is something you have to organize through the hotel and being an international visitor, this wasn't clear unfortunately.
Location is perfect and the boat transport to/from the parks is very convenient. Staff were helpful and friendly. Being able to room charge all park expenses and have them deliver merchandise to your room was a bonus!
There was not enough prior notice about the extensive construction/restoration works in progress. The entire charm and novelty of the hotel was lost due to the whole façade being covered in scaffolding. The photos show European style cafes around the waterfront, with tables and chairs to sit outside. However it was all fenced off and one big construction site. I appreciate it needs renovating as it's pretty dated and tired looking in places, but more warning or bigger discounts should have been given, rather than a bit of small print in the footnote of the booking email.
