Pimalai Resort & Spa (SHA Extra Plus)

Their customer service was impeccable. They went above and beyond our expectations. It was by far the best hotel we have ever stayed in.

The shuttles can be inconvenient however the trade off is that you really have a lot of privacy at your stay which we appreciated motr

The hotel was amazing. It's right in the jungle with a beautiful beach. You can see different kinds of birds, squirrels, lizards etc. around the property. It's in a very quiet location, so it's ideal for a relaxing holiday. There is only 1-2 restaurant/bars within walking distance. I booked a Deluxe Room but I got a free upgrade for Bayfront Deluxe Room which was a wonderful surprise! I was able to see stunning sunsets on the beach from my room! The hotel stuff was very thoughtful. They brought us cold water while sitting by the pool/beach all day, remembered what kind of coffee I like to drink everyday, :) and they even closed the curtains for the night while I was at dinner. :) The gym was well enough equipped. The pools were very nice too! Their airport transfer was so convenient and easy too! I think this was the most genuinely hospitable hotel I've ever been. :) The massage at the spa was also very good, although it was pretty expensive compared to prices in Thailand.

Only thing I could say that the taste and the quality of the food could be a bit better. Thai food I ate was good but grilled seabass sandwich, grilled seabass and cocktails were subpar. Breakfast had enough variety but the quality of the ingredients could have been better.

Pimalai was really magnificent and the service provided by the hotel staff was fantastic. We stayed in the Hill Side Villa with a private pool, and the villa as well as the view was beautiful. A few times we had visits from monkeys on the terrasse - they were only looking for stuff to eat, and the were a bit cheeky - so if they come - remove food and drinks until they move on :). The hotel provides transport up and down the hill with a buggy, and this works perfectly well (it's possible to walk down but going up can be hard - depending on how high up the hill your villa is). Pimalai has an app that you can use for eg. ordering buggys, "in home dining" /food delivery from the restaurants, reservations at the restaurants etc. - and the app works really well. The restaurants are - as many write - 2 to 3x prices of other restaurants in the nearby town - but still reasonable prices, and we primarily used Pimalai's restaurants or "in home dining" The beach is a really nice sandy beach - there are a few semi-large rocks a few places in the water, but only really something to look for at low tide. It seems they clean up the beach quite often as there is no garbage on Pimalai's part of the beach. The nearby town is easily accessible by walking 3-400 meters on the beach - and there is a 7-eleven where you can buy snacks, drinks and a lot of other stuff - to take to the room.

Nothing really. Our seven year old daughter was a bit afraid of the monkeys, but they didn't do anything other than look for food and as the hotel is located in what looks like a jungle it is to be expected and my wife and I thought it was quite interesting to observe the monkeys. (we stayed for 9 days and they came maybe 6 times, only a few at a time)

Everything was just amazing as expected for a 5 hotel. The staff was very welcoming and helpful. I loved the beach and the beach bar! You can have the best day by the beach, enjoying the weather, the sea, and the view, you can do kayaking or standup paddle, order some drinks, and then end the day by the beach bar in a happy hour watching the sunset!
