Uniquely designed hotel, very clean, great breakfast choice
Most staff indifferent and unwelcoming apart from trainee lady on reception at checkout, very polite, can't remember her name, porters/ door colleagues very polite and helpful.
The hotel was in a good location, 2 minutes walk from the metro and the hotel itself was an amazing unique design. Each floor had its own design and it was a great experience. The beds were incredibly comfortable and the features in the rooms were also great! I must say Sergio, the night receptionist was amazing - from every interaction he was so helpful and friendly! The whole staff at the hotel were lovely and the breakfast was great too!
There was nothing in particular we didn’t like. I would say it was just a shame due to closure we couldn’t experience the rooftop bar but other than that I think the overall hotel was lovely.
Nothing
I recently stayed here and I have to say, it was a deeply disappointing experience, especially considering the price and the supposed star rating. Here are the key issues that made my stay far from enjoyable: 1. **Far from Central:** The location is quite inconvenient, being too far from the city center. This makes getting around a hassle, particularly if you're looking to explore Madrid's main attractions. 2. **Lack of Basic Amenities:** For a hotel that claims to be 5-star, the amenities were severely lacking. There was no coffee machine in the room, no robes, no slippers, and not even face cloths. It felt like the bare minimum was missing. 3. **Hidden Charges:** A 50 euro per day deposit was required, which wasn’t mentioned in the terms and conditions when I booked through booking.com. This unexpected cost was a major inconvenience and they confirmed the refund will be paid immediately on check out and it took 3 days. 4. **Subpar Service:** The staff's service was average at best. This is not what you'd expect from a hotel that markets itself as luxurious. There was no proactive assistance or attention to detail. 5. **Bar Fridge & Pool Issues:** The bar fridge in the room was empty—no drinks at all. The pool opens only at midday, which is unusual, and there’s no pool bar. If you want a drink, you have to go back inside to the hotel bar. To make matters worse, the pool isn't heated, and there’s no flexibility with any requests. 6. **Dated Building & Poor Facilities:** The building is noticeably dated, and the facilities are lacking. Most of the restaurants and rooftop bars were closed, leaving little to do within the hotel. 7. **Unpleasant Room Conditions:** There were no cupboards in the room, so unpacking was not an option. The hallways had a musty smell, with poor air circulation and no fresh air. The air conditioning in the room wasn’t adjustable, making it freezing cold at all times.
