The hotel is strategically located on Av. de America--easy access from the airport (via car) and to downtown (via metro) without having to deal with the traffic in Madrid.
The rooms were noticeably dirty. I had to request twice for someone to clean the fridge (which was dirty from previous guests) and to clean my room. Overall, the condition of the rooms is dated, and the quality of service has become subpar. The price of the rooms does not match the level of service or quality provided. Definitely not a 5-star hotel as they claim. We also had an unusual experience at the bar. We ordered a "Tinto de Verano," specifically asking for it with limón (which I believe was priced at 10 euros), but instead, we were served sangria. When we questioned the waitress about why we had received sangria (priced at 14 euros), she insisted that what we had been given was "Tinto de Verano." After pointing out that there was orange juice with sliced apples in our glasses, the waitress explained that this was how they prepared "Tinto de Verano" at the hotel and that we were asking for the "special" version. At that point, I lost all respect for the place. Eventually, she did take back the sangria and brought us a "special" Tinto de Verano (insert sarcasm here) and refunded the difference between the two drinks. I travel to Madrid regularly and have stayed at Puerta de America since 2019; however, this will be my last time. It’s a shame because I love how easy the parking is and the access to other parts of town without having to deal with traffic, as well as the convenience of nearby metro stations and bus hubs (intercambiadores) that connect you easily to anywhere.
we had the zaha hadid room. the room was very spacious and unique. the staff were pleasant.
the chair in the room was too hard no other comfy place to sit other than the bed but this is minor
