I loved the idea of staying in wood cabin! I worked in Golden a few years ago and always drove by the Basecamp and wondered about if. It most certainly didnt disappoint. It had a nice welcoming feeling as well as feeling like it was your own home.

One thing I learnt about a wooden home/hotel is it isnt very insulated so you could hear people walking about and up and down stairs and hallways. So if youre sensitive to this I wouldnt recommend it, however there were earplugs in the bathroom!

Hotel was comfortable and staff friendly. Plenty of free parking.

On one side is the river with views of the mountains, but on the other is not quite so pretty. But this is more a comment on Golden rather than the hotel.
