VaalwaterPrivacy and close up animal encounters
Our stay at Sediba Luxury Safari Lodge was nothing short of enchanting. Our room was more like a cozy bungalow with its own terrace and a jacuzzi - with beautiful views of the night sky and wildlife noises. It's was very spacious and luxurious. They've thought of everything, from a handy animal checklist to personalised water bottles to get you into the safari spirit. And then there's the team at Sediba - they really work hard to make you feel special. The massage we treated ourselves to during our stay was one of the best I've ever had. The whole place runs like a well-choreographed dance, with the staff anticipating your every need such as being ready with a hot or cold cloth after every safari drive depending on the weather. They also clean and turn down your room whilst you're out on safaris meaning rooms are ready after breakfast and dinner for you to relax - there's absolutely nothing you have to think about. While some guests have encountered challenges with monkeys during meals, our experience was monkey-free. I think if you're just as vigilent as the staff - you'll be fine. Turning to the safari. itself - the wildlife here is beyond belief. The Big 5? We checked off elephants, cheetahs, lions, hippos, rhinos, and buffalos. But we also saw so many other animals too: monkeys, baboons, giraffes, zebras, jackals, wildcats, elands, impalas, warthogs (to name a few). And if you've never considered yourself a bird or bug enthusiast, Sediba might just change your mind. Our park ranger Moyo, was more than a guide; he was a living breathing wildlife encyclopedia. Tracking, teaching, and sharing stories, he made the whole experience richer - he truly is an asset to Sediba and one of the main reasons I would return. Please don't lose him!
If I were to offer a suggestion (though it's genuinely challenging to pinpoint anything negative amidst such a fantastic experience), I'd highlight a minor (and I mean really minor) inconvenience in the bathroom. There was no designated spot to hang wet or used towels for proper airing and drying. Another consideration worth noting is that Sediba lacks a gated boundary from the park. On one hand, this is incredible as it means wildlife is right at your doorstep, requiring minimal travel to encounter animals. On the flip side, it does entail being escorted at night (which the staff handles with grace and enthusiasm). However, if you wish to change before dinner, it can feel a tad awkward, not wanting to inconvenience the staff as they patiently wait for you to get sorted. On typical days, it was fine to go straight from the safari car to meals - but during hot and sticky weather or amid rainstorms, it's something to bear in mind.

The gravel road drive from the gate to pick up area was long and not suited for a sedan. It needs a 4x4
