Looked nice on website.

Outside appearance filthy which continued inside. Our room very dated, filthy furniture thick dust everywhere. Mirrors had not been cleaned for months, thick dust under bed, wardrobe etc. Cobwebs everywhere.Tea and coffee tray covered in sugar also in tray with tea bags etc. Kettle still had water in it outer was filthy. Bed so in need of a new mattress so uncomfortable, when in bed it felt you were touching the floor so not good for us elderly people and backs. Bedside tables higher than the bed and light switch even higher. Bedside lights so filthy. Dirt continued in the bathroom. Shower not disabled friendly no grab rail or bath mat and shower leaked. Towels small and thin, hand towels used to mop up water. Bath looked nice but once in you could not reach bath wash as to high on wall. CHURCH BELLS next door rang every hour throughout the night. Traffic noise continuous. Breakfast was from 7 till 9 very basic. Dirt continued, table dusty, cutlery dirty. Food came out warm, tea and coffee undrinkable. On checking out issues were raised and staff member stated she was not surprised. Just the reaction needed. Will not be returning.

It was central to Maldon which is where we were meeting friends.

Very noisy at night (foam earplugs provided by hotel were a clue). Room was very small and so was bed - bedside tables were too big & they barely fit so they rubbed against the bed frame making it squeak- we had to wedge with tissues! Window wouldnt stay open without using a shoe to wedge it open. Bathroom mat was worn & tatty. Soap holder bracket didnt fit soap bottle properly so couldnt pump soap out. Floor carpet looked messy and un-hoovered. Had to ask to have tea&milk supply replenished on second day. All round not really worth 125 a night even with breakfast included.
