Didn’t realize that it had just reopened from hurricane renovations. Still a construction site with many amenities reduced. Price was still high as if operating with all amenities and no construction occurring.
Excellent service
Closures due to hurricane damage and water turned off when we arrived. Television channel selection poor.
The hotel main lobby and central parts are beautiful
Our room was tiny, we upgraded to get a window over looking the sea as it let in more light. The renovation work is still very extensive. The beach gets very windy but the pool is so small people have nowhere to go. Workmen start at 8am and it still feels like there is a lot of work to do
Lobby and the bar. The valet service was effective. Beach and furniture were nice, Alonso pool area.
Never had breakfast. Every time we went, around 8:30 AM, the hostess was never present. To days in a row we waited 5 minutes, looked inside, not to be found. We got coffee and croissants at the bar and moved on. 2nd day/3 got back to the room from the beach, 4:15pm, no housekeeping in hall way, room not done. Foot rinse and shower by the pool to wash off sand, not working. Told the staff, never worked for the 3 days we stayed. Noisy AC. Engineering came, looked, said another person more competent will come tomorrow. Changed the air filter, it fixed nothing. Difficult sleeping for 3 days. 3rd morning, room next door, 3 power tools (concrete hammers) chipping away at 8AM. I am a retired general contractor of Florida. I would seriously consider my hotel manager and his competence in running this establishment. We are not customers with demanding expectancy, but, these are the main things, many little things we overlook in this rating.
