Excellent location and staff!
Everything was perfect!
Location! History! and Amazing Staff. We were so thrilled to stay at the Merchant for the proximity to everything. And how cool to stay in one of the well known historical buildings in all of Salem!! I cannot speak more highly of the staff who were so attentive and helpful pre-arrival and then through our stay. They are not on site in the evenings (after 5pm) and there are not elevators if that's something you require.

Central location to everything
Everything! Size of room, amenities, drinks and snacks available and extra towels and tp were available for us to grab, parking on site, staff was helpful and friendly, water bottles available, everything we needed! Lather products were awesome! Also there were plenty of plugs for electronics! Outdoor porch and balcony were great!
Lighting in the bathroom wasn't very bright. A small table in the bathroom or ledge for toiletries etc would be great!
I don't normally care too much about where I stay beyond cleanliness and a comfortable bed, but The Merchant was enchanting...friendly and helpful staff and delicious breakfast, as well as an extremely well appointed building. We will be back!
The rooms were nice and clean and stylish and the location was ideal.
The creaking of the floorboards because old building I had a noisy ac unit that bubbled a lot and the breakfast that was included was only granola, muffins and yoghurt. Disappointing for the price. As it was quite expensive to stay there.
