San JuanThe beach and pool are beautiful. Attached restaurants which are not run by the hotel are good
When we arrived we were assigned a room that smelled moldy, was dirty and looked at a dirty roof. The hallway on the floor was warm and smelled like chemicals. I went to the front desk to request a different room and was told they were fully booked and had no other rooms available. This was not true because after spending most of the afternoon talking with the hotel we were assigned a room 2 floors up that was cleaner, smelled better and had a better view. The hallway on the 5th floor was cooler. We started to relax and enjoy our stay but on the way to the beach on our 2nd day we were coming from the 5th floor in the elevator when we reached the 4th floor the elevator stopped and then dropped quickly to below the first floor. After the fall we pressed one went back out and stepped out of the elevator, talked to security explaining that the elevator needed to be shut down so no one could be hurt by it. I had a panic attack after the elevator fall and spent quite a while in the lobby recovering. We were told an elevator company was coming to evaluate the elevator. We went to the beach and tried to relax. Afterwards I went upstairs first and my partner followed me afterwards. When I got inside both elevators were operating. I rode in the one that had not fallen but my partner rode in the one that we had fallen in and it fell 3 floors again. He told me when he came to the room and I went to the front desk to tell them that it had happened again. I was told their maintenance man had looked at it and did not find anything wrong. My partner filed a complaint after we were told they there was nothing wrong with the elevator. This is a dangerous situation that was not taken seriously. That night we went to sleep and at 6am were awaken by a loud noise. We had to sleep with the door open because the AC would not go above 67 degrees. The electricity had cut out and I assume the sound was the generator. Water was sprouting out of the sink and tub.

I called many times because the air conditioning was too noisy and I couldn't sleep, but no one ever came.
