Breakfast was nice but it is not worth 39 €/person
First of all corporate behavior; somehow two bookings were made for same date and same hotel mistakenly ( I do not know whose fault; me or Booking.com ) since I noticed double booking issue after free of charge cancellation date; I requested an exception for free of charge cancelation or change of booking date. But Hyatt Regency Cologne shows their real Christmas spirit and charged 90 % of booking price. If they charged 25 % or 35 % instead of 90 %, I would be glad and though that they can understand the situation and shows their kindness. It is nothing what I paid for Hyatt Regency that can be seen always money is more important than customer satisfaction for the hotel management. They absolutely lose a customer. I will never book any Hyatt Regency hotel again.
Staff were phenomenal. I had a pretty bad arrival and as soon as I arrived at the reception desk it completely changed my mood thanks to the most welcoming staff at the desk and the concierge as well. My room offered stunning views across the river Rhine.
Modern technologies in the room, such as iPhone / gadget charger. The hair dryer in the bathroom was joke. Room and facilities are luxurious, but could do with a makeover.

Hotel is oldish, although decently maintained. My main issues was - you cant open window in the room, so the only source of “fresh” air is the vent system.

Expected a better room for the price and due to the brand., there was no view (I know it is extra for a river view but even daylight was partially blocked by external walls) Only 3 English speaking tv channels Cordless phone kept beeping beside my head until I turned it off and left it off the hook Hotel was noisy in general, particularly at night time, trolleys moving up and down the corridors, doors slamming, sounded like moving furniture in some instances. Still waiting for the invoice for my stay to be sent via email and the refund to my card for incidentals, which incidentally did not allow me to charge 2 Cappucinos to the room on one morning.

Employees are very bad at service and communication. We had a really hard time with our baby because of the heater of the room. They fixed it to 18degrees and it was very cold for baby. They didnt help to increase for 3 hours and didnt send portable heater. That night was terrible. Next day they didnt even appologise to us. They dont deserve that much money at all. The room is very old and smell bed. Carpet is full of marks, curtain is dirty. Windows cannot open so the room smells very bad.
Breakfast spread is good, Location is amazing and the rooms are clean and spacious.
Dinner options apart from Sticky Fingers - a bit dispappointed with the Hotel Menu as well as Menu of the Italian restaurant.
Welcoming and friendly staff. I would stay here again.
