•The scenery was truly breathtaking, with stunning greenery and abundant wildlife—even spotting a rare red squirrel was a delightful surprise. An absolute 10/10 experience on that front. •The gardens were beautifully maintained, offering a sense of security and tranquility, with well-designed parking bays adding to the convenience. •The pool was very clean, complemented by excellent spa facilities that enhanced the overall experience. •Service at the restaurant and bar was exceptional, with the staff being consistently polite and attentive. A special mention goes to the very tall gentleman at the bar, who appeared to be new but delivered outstanding service. His genuine interest in us as guests and willingness to go above and beyond made a lasting impression. •The Gatehouse gin selection was a standout, both in quality and pricing for mixers, making it a fantastic find.
•The adult-only swimming pool access was limited to just one hour, from 8-9 am, which isn’t ideal if that clashes with breakfast time. While there was a designated kids' pool, it appeared largely unused, leading to the main pool being crowded with children. Without a designated swimming lane, the atmosphere felt chaotic and potentially unsafe. •In terms of value for money, the experience didn’t quite match expectations. Having stayed in far more luxurious hotels across the UK, the pricing felt unjustifiable for a standard size double room. While spending on quality is never an issue for us, the cost of food in relation to the overall experience of the seemed excessive for what was provided. •We were disappointed that our special request for a quiet double room, made months in advance, became an issue upon arrival. Despite this prior request months in advance, we were initially allocated a room near reception, where the noise levels were quite high. When we inquired about the change, we were told the hotel was very busy, which felt dismissive, given that we had booked far ahead, traveled from London specifically for this stay, and paid £1,000 for five nights. Fortunately, after politely requesting a quieter option, the staff accommodated us with a room at the back, which was appreciated. However, in similarly priced hotels, this type of request is typically honored without issue, making the experience feel somewhat unexpected for the price point.
Excellent location
Breakfast too expensive
Everything
Nothing
Plenty of space.
Whilst booking, the info said no dogs allowed! However, when we turned up, there were pet facilities and we were informed that pets are welcome! *extra charge is applicable, however that is totally understandable.
First time staying in the hotel having previously stayed in a lodge. Great location, beautiful surroundings, lovely and peaceful. Good parking, good food and super friendly staff.
Bathroom odour - damp smell Small swimming pool is fine but no chance of swimming if the pool is busy
The accommodation was very large two very nice bedrooms huge dining area and lounge. Nice kitchen. Property in lovely grounds. Food in the restaurant was very good. You could have two couples in there then it would dramatically increase the value for money.
Two main issues. The blinds where useless from 4 am it was as light as day in the room. The wifi was just too slow and did not even connect on my laptop I had to use my personal hotspot. The TV's were from the 90's they looked less than 30inch no HDMI no ability to cast. The sofa was too uncomfortable.
great tranquil location in the middle of the fields conveniently close to Gleneagles and not too far from St Andrews and Edinburgh The lodges are great for families or groups with individual rooms and shared kitchen
temperature in hotel room
Simply stunning.
Lodges were very spacious and clean. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Food in the Courtyard bar was excellent. Grounds were beautiful - a lovely place to visit.
