Customer service was top notch! Everyone was friendly and helpful. They were also accommodating for earlier check-in when I inquired about luggage storage. This was our first time staying Pineapple but it won’t be the last.
Lobby staff, even though short staffed, was super sweet and helpful. They were great about refunding the rest of my stay because my room was, sadly, a dump. Bed was super comfy and clean. Towels were soft and luxurious.
I wanted to love this hotel. I had high expectations after staying at 3 other StayPineapple hotels (The Maxwell in Seattle, Hotel Z in San Diego, Stay Pineapple South Boston - all three were amazing). Room smelled like cigarette butts and the AC was blasting and the room was freezing (in May). I booked a deluxe room, and there was nothing deluxe about it. I was facing the onramp to the bridge, and could hear traffic through shut windows (which were dirty). I opened the windows to air it out. I had to go down and ask how to adjust the AC and was notified it is not adjustable. Receptionist said I could turn it up past 90 and it will shut the vent. That didn't work but then I turned it all the way down it did turn off. That and opening the windows actually helped with the smell after I went out for a couple of hours and came back. It wasn't hot enough that I needed AC. Seems like the AC vents are the problem. In the bathroom, the soap dispensers had been filled but the lids were sitting on the ledge in the shower, and quite scummy. It was overall clean but not finished. The toilet seat was bubbled up at the front and peeling on the side. Bathroom wasn't horrible. I was not able to check another room because there was only one person on staff and nobody to "escort" me to the room. Unfortunately, this hotel is not well maintained. It looks like it was nice at one point years ago. It needs an overhaul. Some fresh paint and better insulated windows. Windows were filthy too. If this was a budget hotel for under $100/night, I would have been ok with it, but paying almost $150/night, it was a bit of a dump. I was able to walk up the street to another hotel that had a last minute deal. I looked at their standard room and it was so much nicer. Luckily I was able to get the rest of my nights here refunded. I stayed the first night and moved to the other hotel the next day.
When we cancelled our booking the front desk was helpful.
The day of check-in there was an event in town that closed some of the roads. The hotel sent me a map of streets that were open so I could navigate to the property—this map was inaccurate. I called the front desk to ask how to navigate the road closures and get to the hotel, the person that answered said they had no idea, and ended the call with “I hope you can get here!” Ultimately we drove around for 2+ hours in bad traffic before we realized that the hotel was literally inaccessible due to the road closures. The streets were expected to be closed until around midnight, so we were forced to cancel our reservation and book a different place across town. I wish the staff had been more helpful.
Clean, really comfy bed, lovely welcoming staff
While location is good, it’s a little out of the way - I found it a few blocks too far outside of the main part of town as a solo female traveller
We always stay here. It’s an amazing place to stay!
Only thing that was annoying and NO fault of the hotel. With the parade and rose city festival. Downtown was busy and loud all night.
