HI San Francisco Downtown Hostel

Hostel looks great , location is great as well and the staff was super friendly.

We paid extra to have private bathroom but the toilet was clogged.

stayed private room, enough space for 2 people and good location

I am Asian, one female staff worked plugged ipod and just nodding for my question no speaking. Seems that she doesnt want to speak with me. After me, one Western customer asked something, at that time she answered it. Heater was not working, a male staff tried to solve the problem and received small heater but i had to move the heavy heater to my room 6th floor even there was two staffs...

Very comfortable. First time staying at a hostel and it was fantastic! I think itll be my preferred way of travelling now. Staff was great. Really good vibes. Everyone was friendly. Being a solo traveller, Im hesitant when it comes things feeling safe, I never felt uneasy or uncomfortable

Clean, great location

Great location, free coffee at reception, WiFi was decent, lounge, laundry etc

Some rooms overlooked an alleyway with a homeless camp and they are loud in the small hours. Not the fault of the hostel though

Staff were fantastic. Movie night was a great touch. Overall great experience and would recommend to anyone wanting safe accommodation in san fran.

Old building meant not many toilets per floor, not a big issue
