The reason I booked the Hotel Sorrento was because it made a lasting impression on me from the first and only time I visited. The lobby and fireplace are one of a kind. The location is great. A BIG bonus was the large patio with tables and umbrellas for outdoor dining. When the weather cooperates, you can't beat Seattle. Our room had plenty of old world touches and luxury and overlooked the patio below.
I understand that the layout of the old building makes fashioning modern spaces difficult. However, I booked a suite and it was all room but the bathroom was painfully difficult to maneuver. The toilet was sandwiched in a telephone booth sized space and there was no outdoor air access to the bathroom as a whole. Meanwhile, the room was so long and burdened with dead space in the middle, that it felt cold. Another oversight was the artwork intended above the desk was missing with empty hooks in its place. I paid a premium to feel pampered. This particular version of the Ravello Studio Suite wasn't what I hoped from the pictures I saw online.
