Zermatt Youth Hostel

We stayed at another block next to the registration and main facilities block. It is quiet and clean compared to the main block. We were able to do our laundry and the capacity of the washer and dryer were sufficient for us two people.

The hostel is above the mountain with many staircase, we have luggage and dragged all the way from the train station, it is such a waste of time and there is no buggy service. Hostel are not so helpful to provide solid information about getting there from station and locker size. It is really bad for travelers who want to plan ahead and travelers would like to know what to expect. We only found out the FREE BUS SERVICE nearby on the next day. Reception staffs are not so friendly and helpful, and tend to be sarcastic in an inappropriate situation. Our rooms are overlooking Matterhorn but it is blocked by a tall big tree which disappointed us a little. The window opening direction is odd, it is rather open inward and not outward. The bathroom is huge and the shelving is super slim small, maybe they expect us to put bottles on the floor? Those are little things that are not well considered and thought off. There were many pax in the building and there is only one microwave available. This building does not provide proper facilities while they need to accommodate so many pax at the same time. We won't recommend anyone to stay in this hostel.
